Slumdog Miliionaire
March 17, 2009Do not be too moral.
You may cheat yourself out of much life so.
Aim above morality.
Be not simply good; be good for something.
~Henry David Thoreau
For those who haven’t watched it yet, please do (It’s still showing here in Australia, that’s how popular this movie is). If you’re a Filipino grounded to the harsh realities of life in the Philippines, you can most probabyly relate to this movie. If not, then this movie is a learning experience. The circumstances shown in the movie still happen everywhere in the world. You just have to open your eyes and see what’s really out there.
Here’s a review from: http://filmtvindustry.suite101.com/article.cfm/slumdog_millionaire_movie_review
“This combination of the exotic and the familiar is what has made Slumdog Millionaire so successful. The movie is also an inspirational story of a young man who has worked his way up from the gutter to win the girl of his dreams. It also serves to personify and personalize the struggles that India as a nation has undergone over the past several decades, as it has struggled to update itself and become more in step with the modern world.”
